Description

These keto crispy air fryer chicken wings with mouth-watering dry rub seasoning are a game changer, ready in no time and bursting with flavour!! This easy air fryer recipe is so easy to make and so tasty, that it will become your new favorite way to cook chicken wings 😋Perfect finger food to have with your favorite sauce or just by themselves—Gluten-free & dairy-free.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 chicken wings (I use party wings, but whole wing are also ok, more info on notes)
  • 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil

Dry rub ingredients

  • 2 tsp of dried oregano
  • 3/4 tsp of sea salt
  • 1 tsp of ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp of onion powder
  • 1 tsp of mustard powder
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1 tsp of paprika

Instructions

  1. Start by preparing the dry rub seasoning: Add all the dry rub ingredients to a small bowl, and combine well with a little spoon or fork.
  2. Pat dry wings: Pat dry the chicken wings using paper towels. This step is important to remove the moisture from the wings and helps to get crispy skin. It is a must for best results so don't skip it!
  3. Oil wings: Transfer wings to a large mixing bowl or tray. Pour the extra virgin olive oil over them, and combine well making sure all the wings are coated with oil.
  4. Toss dry rub: Toss half of the dry rub mixture over the chicken wings, doing your best to spread it along all the wings. Flip the wings and toss the other half of the dry rub. Ensure all the wings are coated with the dry rub.
  5. Air fry: Transfer the wings to the air fryer basket making a single layer of wings. Cook in batches if required, depending on how big your air fryer is. Cook at 200C/392F for 20 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through. The skin of the wings should be golden brown and the meat inside nice and tender.

Notes

  • Party wings VS whole wings: Party wings refer to the middle larger part of the chicken wings, also called wingette or flat (showcased in the photos of this post), while the whole chicken wings also include the tip and the drumette. The reason why I like to use party wings for this recipe is because they're easier to eat as finger food and also optimize the space in the air fryer basket, but feel free to use the whole chicken wing if that's your preference.
  • Dry rub: feel free to use other combination of spices that you have on your pantry or an already made dry rub mix.
  • Don't be shy with the amount of dry rub, coat them up baby! Be generous with the amount of dry rub to make these air fryer wings extra flavourful!
  • Please note that the cooking time might vary depending on your air fryer. Different air fryers have different power, hence it might take a bit longer to cook the wings.
  • It is important to make sure you cook the chicken wings on a single layer on the basket of the air fryer to get perfect crispy wings!!
  • Pairing sauce ideas: they pair great with hot sauce, tztatziki,  savory coconut yogurt sauce or homemade BBQ sauce.
  • Store the leftover wings in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
  • To reheat, simply reheat in the microwave for a couple of minutes or in the air fryer at 200C/392F for 5 minutes.
