This delicious no food processor chocolate almond spread is ready in 5 minutes. It's super easy to make and full of chocolaty and almond flavour!

    Chocolate almond spread

This is the kind of finger-licking-good recipe, literally. Stock this in your pantry and dip your finger in, when you need a chocolaty kick.

Chocolate (cacao) is a superfood if consumed the right way, and I am a big fan of healthy chocolate treats!! If you've tried my vegan no bake chocolate tart, or my cacao almond energy balls, you know this!

The ingredients list of this recipe it's super simple:

    • Almond butter (smooth or chunky up to you!)
    • Coconut oil
    • Honey
    • Vanilla essence
    • Cacao (fair trade)
    • Cinnamon

    See recipe card for quantities.

How to make this chocolate almond spread

When I say this recipe it's so easy, I mean it.

Put all the ingredients in a small bowl, stir well to combine, and voila! No equipment required!

    Chocolate almond spread step 1

Transfer the mix to a glass jar, and you're ready to go.

Hint: If you live in a cold place, you'll have to melt the coconut oil in the microwave before combining all the ingredients.

    Substitutions

There's a few tweaks you can do for this recipe that will work well

    • Go vegan - using maple syrup instead of honey. You could use dates as well, but then you will need a food processor.
    • Use cocoa powder instead of cacao - just make sure you use a sugar-free cocoa powder.
    • Do you rather other butter? No worries - this recipe can be made with other nut butters. Cashew or macadamia will work fantastic as well. Peanut butter is a great option too, if you tolerate peanuts well.

    Storage

Great news! All the ingredients in this recipe are long lasting, so you can store this spread in a glass jar at room temperature for weeks.

I don't think you will actually be able to have it for weeks though, it's so good it will only last a few days 🙃

Top tip for this chocolate almond spread!!

You can play around with the consistency of this spread, by adding more or less coconut oil. If you like it more runny, add ½ tablespoon of coconut oil. If you like it thicker, add ½ tablespoon of coconut oil less.
