Notes
Plant-based milk or fruit juice can be used instead of coconut water. Coconut milk would be my preference, but almond milk, soy milk, or pineapple juice would work well too.
Feel free to use different fruits like fresh pineapple, coconut, or passion fruit.
Coconut cream or dairy-free yogurt are perfect additions to make the smoothie extra thick and creamy.
This smoothie is best consumed straightaway to enjoy the best texture and nutritional profile. However, you can make this smoothie ahead and store it in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 days. The fruit will oxidate after blending, so the flavor and color might slightly change after a few days.
The ratio of fruit VS coconut water (or liquid of choice) is crucial to achieve a thick and creamy texture. The more coconut water you add, the more runny the smoothie will be.
