Description

Learn how to make toasted coconut flakes sweet with this super easy and quick recipe. Ready in less than 15 minutes from start to finish, plus super crispy and delicious. Vegan.

Ingredients

Scale

4 cups of coconut flakes (untoasted)

2 tbsp of coconut oil melted

1,5 tbsp of maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C / 350F.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the coconut oil and maple syrup. Stir with a spoon until you get a homogeneous mixture.
  3. Add the untoasted coconut flakes to a large bowl, and pour the coconut maple mixture on top. Mix well to combine with your hands.
  4. Transfer to a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread along the baking sheet aiming to make a single layer of coconut flakes. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes until golden brown. Check out after 7 minutes to make sure they are not burning.
  5. Let them cool completely at room temperature or inside the oven with the door open. Please note that until they are cold, they might have a chewy texture. They will become crispy once cold.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature. They last weeks with a crispy texture if stored properly in a dry place.
